Oh, the people gamble!
Yes, they gamble with their own lives!
They play lifeless machines to get their blood flowing,
By testing the living God, they gamble with their own life!
Who knows Him whose Word can stop a human heart?
He speaks, and all the earth shuts its mouth and trembles.
The earth melts like wax before His Presence.
Give back to the Lord what He has given you.
Stop treating yourself with contempt by sinning.
Does not a living being love himself and take care of himself?
When he is hungry, he feeds his gut;
When he is thirsty, he gets a drink for his tongue;
When he is tired, he rests for his body;
But you hate yourself by sinning, destroying your own flesh.
Do men think the Lord doesn’t see?
His angels watch and report to Him;
His eyes aren’t blind from His high position.
The Almighty desires obedience in the inmost part;
He desires for humanity to know Him and His Way.
Do not despise my words, you who love life;
Do not love deceit, you who love truth.
