The Law of Liberty

The law of God can be used correctly or incorrectly. For one, it is for the godless; tt is there to convict to the sinner of his way. It is there to show us what sin is; I would have not known coveting is sin if the law had not said, "You shall not covet". The law was put into place for us as a guardian until the way of faith was revealed. It is not a means to righteousness, for no one can fully obey it. It is not given for strict obedience, as works to righteousness. It was given so that we may obtain to righteousness through faith, for it testifies to Christ. The disobedient have fear of punishment, but the righteous are at peace. The law is not for the righteous, but for the sinner. If we follow the Spirit, we will obey the law; this is only possible through Jesus Christ and the new creation.
