The Harvest in the End

Jesus is the first to rise from the dead as first fruits to God. Just as God makes the crop grow, He shows us how the resurrection will occur in the end. First the seed in the soil dies, then it springs up in a new kind of glory, which was not like the last. It is planted in the ground and dies, then sprouts up with new life. The crop brought before the LORD at the Festival of Firstfruits symbolizes this; it points to Jesus Christ who is the firstfruits of the harvest, the first to rise from the dead. It is appointed for men to die once, then comes the judgement; just as Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many.
