The Four Soils
There are four soils the Lord spoke about;
there are also four different soils the nation of Israel were in.
There is one soil which is good soil and fruitful: this represents the land of promise, Canaan, a land flowing with milk and honey.
The other three soils were unfruitful; Israel dwelt in three other lands throughout history.
The wilderness represents the seed that was scorched and had no root, for the wilderness is hot, without water, and desolate.
The land of Exile represents the seed choked out by thorns, for the thorns represent the world, Babylon, which Israel went into exile.
And the land of bondage and slavery, Egypt, is the rocky soil, where the birds ate up the seed, since oppression comes from the evil one.
We ought to ask ourselves, which land are we dwelling in currently? Believe the promise and occupy the good land.
