The Armor of God

When David went to go fight Goliath, he was given armor by Saul which did not fit him; however David had armor which was from God, an armor that is fitting for a man of God. Armor is for protection; what good is armor if we're hurt in battle? The war has been won by Christ on the cross, and we join into his victory through faith. Christ's victory is absolute: we stand on victory ground. Our fight is to claim the land God has promised us; and God has promised, He will fight for us and subdue our enemies before us. Therefore, we have strong confidence to go out and conquer the land which the enemy inhabits; for the LORD fights our battles and victory is with the LORD.
