The Altar of Christ

We were crucified with Christ and made right with God through Him when He died on the cross on our behalf; so by sanctification we pick up our cross and follow Him, just as Isaac did when he subjected himself to his father, Abraham; he was spared of his life and was thereafter considered a living sacrifice. The cross is the altar of the sacrifice; and we are the sacrifice. So as we follow Christ, just as He took up His cross and became the sacrifice for sins, so we also pick up our cross and follow Him. Jesus rose from the dead and became the source of eternal salvation to everyone who believes; and we likewise, who were dead in sin, have become alive to God through faith, a living sacrifice.
