The Flesh: Pride and Lust
All sins of the flesh pertain to lust and pride.
Lust is coveteousness, desiring things which are seen;
the remedy for this disease is faith, believing in Him who is unseen.
Pride is selfishness, glorying in one's self of achievement;
the remedy for this sickness is Jesus Christ.
He did not consider Himself equal with God, but took on the form of a servant and appeared in the likeness of man.
And He humbled Himself to death, even death on a cross;
and for this reason God highly exulted Him and bestowed on Him a name greater than every other name,
that at the name of Jesus Christ every knee will bow and every tongue will confess, "Jesus is Lord".
