You must be Born of Water and Fire

The baptism of water is a baptism of repentance. John the Baptist was the first apostle sent by God to proclaim water baptism, confession of sin and repentance. He preached that men should believe in the One to come after him. The twelve were sent by God baptizing and making disciples after Him. Yet there is another baptism, a baptism of fire and of the Spirit, and it includes tribulation and refining from impurities. Jesus is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit. And we are saved (1 Peter 3:21) through water as Noah and his family were saved through the deluge; we are saved through the refining work of the Holy Spirit to sanctification. In the future when the world is judged by fire, we will be caught up in the heavens and will not perish along with the rest of the world. So we are saved through water and fire, we are saved from the flood of the nations and the fire of judgement.
